Brewer Technology and Learning Center was
founded in 1995 by educational technology expert and author/lecturer Tony Brewer
(Read a brief Bio). His
philosophy is now as it was then: "Using technology to deliver instruction
will indeed enhance and accelerate the learning process. From the gifted to
struggling learners, technology accommodates every learning style and rate."
Our mission is to deliver only the finest educational professional
development programs, demonstrating sound reasoning and best practices. We
offer a wide range of existing programs from which to choose, but prefer to
work with your school administrators to create a customized program to meet
your exact needs.
We begin the process of creating a customized professional development
program by offering a pre-assessment survey of your staff's technology
skills, motivation, interest and level of integration. Once complete, you
will receive a comprehensive executive summary report, outlining your
existing programs strengths, weaknesses and our recommendations for creating
a successful training program. From that summary we work with you to design
and build the appropriate professional development programs, timeline and
expected outcomes.
Upon reaching an agreement that meets the exacting needs of your school, we
work together to select the best trainer(s) for your program, schedule the
training workshops and deliver the content.
Throughout the process, we will continually measure the level of
participation, interest, motivation and skill gain. We often modify our
programs "on-the-fly" to meet a group's specific needs or requests, and
encourage greater engagement. An assessment form is completed by each
participant upon completion of each workshop, and aggregated to make sure we
are on target.
Periodic progress reports are submitted to administration, providing an
opportunity for additional input.
Toward the completion of the contracted professional development program, we
will conduct a post-assessment survey to determine if we have approximated
our goals. If it is determined that additional review, practice is needed,
we will schedule additional training.
As part of our full service program, we also offer you the opportunity to
have our highly skilled trainers work with selected teachers to help deliver
a few lessons. We find this activity often leads to a greater level of
technology integration success.
Upon completion of the program, we will provide you with a follow-up
executive summary, outlining our goals, outcomes and any additional
recommendations we may have. We also recommend periodic follow-up visits by
our faculty to insure continuity in the delivery of content using technology
as the primary vehicle.
